In this first photoshoot, I explored how lighting two people with the same two colours can make them look more similar. The idea of using two colours that compliment each other ties in with the subject of siblings and relationships.

I have younger, non-identical twin brothers. Yet in the lighting similarities are revealed. This is because their skin is affected by light in the same way.

the lights were placed either side of the brothers. to allow the colours to exist on only one side of the face each.

Development - glow layering

For my development stage, I experimented with layering blur to create a glow effect in photoshop. Trying various blending settings to see how pronounced I could make the glow. Then to balance the sharpness of the image, I levelled in the opacity of the glow layer. This development smoothened out the skin and softened the overall image to look more natural.
